Bee Ho Steamboat Restaurant

This place sees a lot of dinner action since my college days in SS15, Subang Jaya. The place has quaint checkered tiled walls which leads me to wonder if it used to be a western joint? Lol. As my dad was in town, we decided to pop by this place for an early dinner. There was only one table of students when we arrived but by the time we were done with the meal, the place was packed!

Portion for 2. RM12.80 per pax. Included fish fillet, fish balls, tofu items, prawns, fish noodles, dumplings, vegetables, meat ball, quail eggs, noodle cakes etc. We did order additional enoki mushrooms (RM7) which were not part of the pre-picked ingredients. There were many more additional items to be ordered off the menu.

Side serving of mud crab which is priced according to weight. Even though I have heard about the crab noodles here, I like to boil my crab in the soup quickly for that fresh, juicy taste. Plus, the crab essence only adds to the flavour of the soup. Yum.

I have a friend whose parents come here once a week without fail and I can understand why. The clear soup here is very tasty and the fish products very fresh. Plus, the fiery chilli sauce does add quite a kick to all the processed food. Even my dad has asked to come back the next time he’s in town!

  1. Really so good?? Hmm, must try must try…

epicuriousgirl says: it’s just simple fare actually, but it’s the fresh ingredients that makes the difference šŸ™‚

  2. looks good! thx for the tip… but the thing i hate about the crab they give you in steamboat is that it is just so anorexic! just for flavour – not like you can eat the meat huh?! lol

epicuriousgirl says: haha, maybe it’s the angle. I thought it looked skinny too, but I remembered we had quite a bit of flesh to eat after cooking it. The pinchers were quite substantial too. šŸ™‚

Not really a steamboat fan but on rainy nights, it’s superb.

epicuriousgirl says: yes, for warming up. and i think it’s always nice to have a big group over steamboat.
